Subject: I was at this show

My buds and I were about 10 yards just left of center. 150 grams of red later, I remembered we had a bunch of fun. This was when they had the wall of sound system working. It was like a huge stereo system with perfect clarity, for the time. I remember going to concerts at Olympia Halle and being out of the concerts before 12:00 midnight, because the last subway train ran at 12:35 am. This one went on and on, we didn't get out until almost 1am. It was the first time to see the Dead. What a show! Now my kids are listening. Jerry lives on in the hearts of all us hippies...

Subject: Is this date correct?

I didn't find the audio quality to be too offensive, quite listenable by aud. standards for the time. I have a poster from this tour that was dug up out of a basement and given to me by a friend and have been searching to find the shows from the dates and venues listed on it. The date listed on the poster for the Olympia Halle show in Munich is Oct. 12. What gives? Also, if any other shows from this Europe tour are out there, it would be much appreciated to upload please.

Subject: It is Good

This show sounds like it was recorded with a hand-held bratwurst for a microphone, and if you don't like that sound you should turn from here and never look back. If you're used to bad audience tapes, then check this one out. To me it sounds like one of the most focused '74 shows. It requires some effort to hear Phil, but listen to how he quickly sails a pirate ship right thru Sugaree, just after the second-to-last chorus. Eyes of the World is near-flawless, jam and all, with a cool transition into Saturday Night. Great Jack Straw. Jerry wasn't goofing around this night, and they all played as one. Points off for the sound, probably not enough, but you can still dig this one, if you try....
